OCT. 26, 2020 — There has been a lack of research on asexuality, despite growing calls from within the asexual community for increased visibility and awareness. Even less is known about asexual youth. Using data from The Trevor Project’s 2020 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health, this brief explores sexual orientation, gender identity, and mental health indicators among asexual youth.

OCT. 6, 2020 — Both LGBTQ youth and Black youth report higher rates of poor mental health. However, very little research has quantitatively explored outcomes specific to Black LGBTQ youth.

SEP. 24, 2020 — Latinx LGBTQ youth were 30% more likely to report a suicide attempt in the past year compared to non-Latinx LGBTQ youth.

JUL. 29, 2020 — Although 75% of youth use either he/him or she/her exclusively, 25% of LGBTQ youth use they/them exclusively, a combination of he/him, she/her, or they/them, or neopronouns such as ze/zir or fae/faer.

JUN. 23, 2020 — Although nearly one in three LGBTQ young people reported participating in sports, a number of LGBTQ youth reported choosing not to participate in sports due to reasons related to discrimination or fear of LGBTQ-based discrimination.

JUN. 23, 2020 — Regardless of outness, transgender and nonbinary youth reported significantly lower rates of sports participation than their cisgender LGBQ peers.
