Our community has grown so much over the past 25 years. Together, we have built a network of people dedicated to supporting LGBTQ young people, advocating for their rights, and making sure the world becomes a better place for them. Every person in this growing community of care has unique strengths and passions, whether that’s dancing, pottery, advocacy, running, or reading. Join us in celebrating each other and Trevor’s 25th Anniversary in our 25 Minute Strut Your Strengths Facebook Challenge!

This virtual fundraising challenge is all about what makes you special — and raising funds for The Trevor Project while doing it. You can join the Facebook group now and start fundraising today. Then on March 1, you can officially log your 25 minutes of daily activity of your choice. Join our community on Facebook who are showcasing their skills and interests in support of Trevor!

Follow these simple steps to join our Strut Your Strengths Challenge:

While our community struts their strengths, the money they raise helps The Trevor Project continue to provide free, confidential 24/7 suicide prevention and crisis services. This effort will also support Trevor’s ongoing public education, advocacy, and research initiatives, all in hopes of building that world where LGBTQ young people are safe and free to be themselves.

Together, we can help end suicide for LGBTQ young people. Thank you so much for your support and best of luck with the challenge!

A: To correct your total activity in Messenger, type “Menu” then enter, click on “Record minutes” and then click “Edit my total minutes.” Let us know if you still experience issues.

Q: How do we participate as a team?

A: When you register in Messenger, you will be prompted to take on the challenge solo or as a team. Follow the prompts to build out your team!

Q: What do I do if I started a Facebook fundraiser for The Trevor Project but not specifically for the challenge?

A: A Facebook fundraiser for The Trevor Project is the same as a fundraiser for this challenge. Thanks for supporting Trevor’s mission!

Being There For LGBTQ+ Young People With Disabilities

An estimated 3 to 5 million LGBTQ+ people in the United States have disabilities. It would be wrong, then, to assume that someone’s disability could dictate their gender or sexuality. Still, as we enter Developmental Disability Awareness Month, we encounter a lot of stigma and misinformation surrounding LGBTQ+ young people who have a disability (or more).  First, let's talk about what a disability is. A disability can be defined as a physical, mental, cognitive, or developmental condition that impairs, interferes with, or limits a person's ability to engage in certain tasks or participate in typical daily activities and interactions. But…

Trevor Project is “Sharing Space” to Celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility

In light of the record number of anti-LGBTQ – and specifically, anti-trans – bills across the country, The Trevor Project believes trans and nonbinary young people should be able to tell their own stories. To mark Transgender Day of Visibility (celebrated each year on March 31st), we're launching the first episode of “Sharing Space,” our new video series featuring roundtable-style conversations with LGBTQ youth moderated by curious, open-minded adults and allies. The first episode of this educational series is moderated by longtime supporter of The Trevor Project, Daniel Radcliffe. "We listen to so many people talk about trans youth and…
